Ripperoo Parade

Come and join Ripperoo, our Ski & Ride School Mascot, and his Ski School friends as he leads kids in a parade through the Village at Northstar. The parade will be held every Saturday through April 11th, 2015 from 3:50 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Help them dance their way around the ice rink. Meet at the Kid’s Ski School entrance a little before 3:50 p.m. to participate. No need to bring anything but a smile!

Interdenominational On-Mountain Church Services

Enjoy a Sunday worship service in the fresh air and beautiful mountain setting by joining us on Sundays this winter from December 21 through April 5 (Easter Sunday) for interdenominational worship services sponsored by Tahoe Resort Ministries and Northstar California. All services will take place on the mountain at the top of the Vista Chair Lift at the Cross at 2:00 p.m. and will last between 15 and 20 minutes. All are welcome!

On these days, we will have complimentary face painting, a balloon artist and a DJ spinning your favorite hits on the Day Lodge Deck from 11am – 2pm. 

Please note: For 2015, the Pond Skim has been canceled. Northstar continues to offer the best-quality spring ski experience to guests, and the snow (that would have been used to build the pond skim) will be a great resource for keeping the largest-possible variety of trails open with great conditions, which is a huge benefit to our guests. We’re open all the way to the top, all major lifts are open, and more than 50 terrain park features are available throughout three parks.

Big Truck Day: Check out Northstar's Big Trucks on Easter, April 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Valet Parking Lot near the entrance to The Village. We'll have a variety of trucks to get in and check out during the afternoon so bring the kids (or kids at heart)!

Easter Egg Dash: The Northstar Skating Rink, Cabanas and Village Stage will be filled with over 5,000 candy and toy filled Easter Eggs for our annual Easter Egg Dash! The stage will be designated for children under 2 if they would prefer to be in a more confined and calmer egg zone. Kids will be invited to storm the rink at 10:30am, on the dot, to collect a basket full of eggs. A word to the wise, arrive early, once the kids are let loose, the eggs are gone within seconds!  Please bring your own basket.

Complimentary Face Painting: From 10:30am - 1:30pm Giggle & Grin Face Painting & Balloon Twisting will be on site to offer complementary services in the village.  

Complementary Easter Crafts: From 10:30am - 1:30pm kids are invited to join us for some Easter crafts. A table will be set up in front of the Kid’s Ski School and supplies will be provided.   

Easter Scavenger Hunt: The Easter Bunny will help hide a limited number of golden eggs both on the mountain and in the village early Easter morning. The lucky few to find them throughout the day will receive special prizes! The golden eggs are first come, first find!

Epic Mix Photos with Easter Bunny: EpicMix will be on site to take kid and family photos with the Easter Bunny on the Village Stage form 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Easter Bunny & Ripperoo Parade: Kids are invited to join Ripperoo and the Easter Bunny for a parade through the Village at 4:45pm.  

Jelly Bean Contest: Stop by Euro Sweets and test your Jelly Bean counting skills! Visit the location on Easter Sunday for your chance to guess how many jelly beans are in the jar. The winner will be announced at the Ripperoo Parade at 4:45pm and will receive the jelly beans to take home. You don’t need to be present to win.

Fat Bike Demo Day

Fat bikes offer a super fun and surprisingly efficient way to explore the terrain in our mountain environment, no matter the season. With tires up to 5” wide run at low pressure, these bikes will tackle dirt, gravel, mud, packed snow and ice without hesitation. Northstar Cross Country and Paco’s Bike and Ski will be providing demos and trail access at no charge on Easter Sunday, so come on up and check out these awesome pedaling machines!

Demos will be available from 8:30am – 4:00pm on Sunday April 5th from the Northstar Cross Country Center at Mid-Mountain. 

Every guest will need to sign a waiver before taking the bikes out. 

Helmets are required.

Cross Country Center staff will be onsite all day to provide assistance.

Complimentary trail passes will be available in the Adventure Guiding and Learning Center in the Village for guests participating in Fat Bike Demo Day.

Join is for the first ever Big Truck Day on Sunday, April 5th!

Minimum Day Madness Elementary School Fundraiser

Join us in supporting our local elementary schools four Wednesdays this winter season. Bring the family and enjoy ice skating on the rink followed up by dinner in the Village. Northstar will donate 20% of all skate rental proceeds from the day to the four elementary schools. And make sure to bring your Dining for Schools card for 50% off on all entrée’s in TC’s Pub while supporting Excellence in Education.
