During the winter of 1960, athletes from around the world came to Lake Tahoe to participate in the Winter Olympic Games. The biathlon and cross country events were held in what is now Sugar Pine Point State Park. Join park staff, the West Shore Business Association and the Sierra State Parks Foundation as we celebrate our snow heritage with a series of events designed to bring families and friends together as we celebrate what makes our region so special. This historic venture will come alive with the Olympic spirit as the public is invited to join us for a week of special events. Scheduled events will include an all ages, beginners, modified biathlon event; snowshoe hikes highlighting our Olympic heritage; and Opening Ceremonies.
4:00 - 7:00pm Join Tahoe Adventure Company for one of our very special Full Moon Treks through the brisk mountain air of Lake Tahoe's pristine forests. As we travel by moonlight, our knowledgeable guides will discuss Natural History and Astronomy topics. We will also stop along the way to take in the beautiful views and enjoy snacks and hot drinks. This Tour is popular with all levels and abilities.
5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Come take advantage of the dark Tahoe skies this winter with star guide and poet Tony Berendsen during Star Gazing Snowshoe Tours at Northstar California. Every tour is as different as the starry skies above however each will include a poem reading, a fun space quiz, a laser tour of the stars and constellations, a telescopic viewing using top of the line Celestron telescopes and wine and hot cider around a fire pit.

All Day Riders and resort guests can enjoy a day of FREE on-snow entertainment, including Burton 2014 product demos, live music, sponsor giveaways, and mini park for the smallest snowboarders. The Burton Mountain Festival includes the Test Ride, Riglet (children's snowboarding area), after-party at TC's Pub, and much more.

Carve Tahoe is free and open to the public at Northstar California Resort in North Lake Tahoe. The best snow carvers from around the world will be sculpting breathtaking masterpieces out of 20-ton blocks of snow from January 28-February 2, 2014; with the awards ceremony taking place on February 2. Each donation made with a fan vote will be given to the Sierra Avalanche Center. We look forward to seeing you in North Lake Tahoe this January!
