Get the most out of your vacation by being prepared.
Try these tips to beat the elements:
- Bring and wear adequate clothing, the weather can change quickly
- Dress in layers. This way you can adjust to varying temperatures, altitude levels and stay dry
- Wear a hat! You’ll stay warm and protect your body from the elements
High altitude can have a surprisingly powerful affect on you.
A few precautions can help a lot:
- If you’re not used to living at high elevation, take it slow at first. With less oxygen available at high altitudes you may tire more quickly
- Drink plenty of water. High, dry air accelerates dehydration
- Don’t forget your sunglasses and sunscreen! At around 10,000 ft. the effects of the sun can be 50% greater than at sea level
