Rafting Down The Truckee River
The Truckee River begins near Carson Pass and flows into Lake Tahoe, where water is released through a dam at Tahoe City.  Rafting down the river can be described as a scenic, easy float.

A more challenging area of the river is where the Truckee and Little Truckee rivers meet below Boca Reservoir, which is mostly Class II and III with one Class IV rapid. The water is liveliest when the snow melts in May and June, but rafting most years is possible until early October although the summer of 2014 this most likely will not be possible.  Area rafting companies include:

Lake Tahoe Whitewater Tours - 800-442-7238, Pick Up Location: 11368 Donner Pass Rd, Truckee, CA 96161

IRIE- 530-582-4900, Pick Up Location: 11253 Brockway Rd., Suite 103, Truckee, CA 96161

"Super convenient to the hill!
The condo was very nice. Service was great. Ski locker was a bonus. We loved being able to cook meals, and have skiers return home on their own schedule."

"Some of the best lodging I’ve stayed in - ever!
All I can say is "Swanky!" We had an enormous living room, kitchen and balcony area. I loved the fireplace. Staff was cheery, helpful."
