Q: Do you recommend a rental car or should we use the available ground transfers offered between Reno-Tahoe International Airport and the Village at Northstar? A:If you plan skiing or riding at Northstar for your Tahoe vacation, and want to stay at the Village in the evenings, you don’t really need a rental car. However, if you’re ready for the full Tahoe ski exploration and plan to ski/ride the nearby mountain and ski resorts like Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows or Heavenly, a rental car is necessary. Regardless of your choice of ground transportation, we would be happy to assist you with your transportation arrangements when you make your lodging reservation.
Q: Which shuttle or ground transfer services are available to get to our ski vacation from Reno-Tahoe International Airport, to the Village at Northstar and other Tahoe resorts?

Q: Is the underground parking at the Iron Horse Lodge or the Great Bear Lodge free to the guests?
A: Absolutely. The only restriction is that only one vehicle parking pass will be distributed with each reservation or condo booked. Should friends wish to visit you during your stay in Northstar, or someone in your party drives his/her vehicle, outdoor parking is available near the village. Q: Is there a shuttle service between the Village at Northstar and the nearby Tahoe resorts?
A: We’re currently discussing that service with other interested lodging companies and resorts on both the California and Nevada shores. While we can’t positively assure that a service will be in place for the 2006/2007 season, we’ll post updates about the progress of these exchanges on this website.
Q: Which housekeeping services are available?
A: During the winter season, any stay of at least five nights will receive daily trash and tidy service; in addition, a more complete mid-week housekeeping is also available for stays of at least 6 nights. Additional housekeeping services for your Tahoe lodging can be arranged in advance by contacting our reservations department.
Q: Which bedding configuration is likely to be standard in our condo?
A: Each condominium unit is privately owned and furnished. Most units however have a King or Queen bed in the master suite. The other bedrooms are generally outfitted with a queen or twin beds.
Q: Are the Northstar Tahoe vacation rentals and condominiums equipped with individual washer and dryers?
A: Yes, each unit is equipped with its own washer and dryer for the convenience of guests that expect to have these amenities right in their residence.
Q: What are the dinner options offered at the Village?
A: Northstar’s New Village now offers a world of great eateries We recommend that you sample most of what Northstar has to offer before venturing on the Lake’s shores or exploring nearby Truckee.
To name a few options – there is Timbercreek Restaurant with its American cuisine and its children's menu (dinner) and of course Earthly Delights and Big Waves Burritos and Wraps offers you a full array of gourmet groceries, deli, mexican dishes and more…
Q: Can we make dinner or entertainment reservations and organize for grocery delivery prior to our arrival at Northstar?
A: Absolutely! This is where Tahoe Mountain Resorts Lodging's concierge service helps you create the dream vacation you want. When you book your stay with us, you will be given the opportunity to complete our Concierge order form either online or by fax. Here’s a sampling of the services offered: Dinner reservations, grocery delivery, advance purchase of lift tickets, certain travel arrangements (transfers, taxis, rental cars), rental ski and snowboard equipment, child Care (list of child care facilities and available babysitters), ski school reservations for private instructors, certain in-house rentals (humidifiers, roll away beds, highchairs and/or cribs), etc.
Q: What weather conditions can we expect during our stay in Northstar?
A: While the Tahoe region is recognized for its moderate weather conditions compared to other mountain locations in the West - regardless of the season, it is important to bring a variation of outer wear and cloths to allow you and those traveling with you to dress in layers depending on the weather conditions.
